Today we bring you routes full of green, ocher, brown and blue skies: we are going to visit the most outstanding national parks in Spain. In addition, for each of them we indicate campsites where you can spend the night and park your caravan. Shall we start?
This park is the only one to be found in Catalan territory, in the heart of the Pyrenees. You will find peaks that exceed 3,000 meters in height, hundreds of ponds and rivers, ravines and waterfalls that will leave you with your mouth open.
The entrance to the park is done either from Espot or from Boí. In both towns you will find information about the park. Among the most prominent campsites are Aigüestortes Camping Camping Resort, Camping Voraparc, Camping Sol i Neu, Camping la Mola or Camping Boneta, among others.
Belonging to the Cantabrian mountain range, it is a mountainous massif located in the north of Spain, occupying part of the Principality of Asturias, Cantabria and León. It contains peaks that exceed 2,500 meters in height. The area is divided into three massifs: the Western Massif or Cornión, the Central Massif or Los Urrieles and the Eastern Massif or Ándara.
The management of the campsite makes available to anyone who is interested the option of booking a guided tour by the guides of the National Park itself and they are free.
Among the most prominent campsites are Camping Picos de Europa, Camping El Cares or Camping La Isla de Picos Europa.
Located in the City, near Daimiel itself, it has almost 200,000 annual visitors. In it is the wetland with the same name. It was declared a national park in 1973 and since then it has not stopped receiving visits. The last representation of what is known as river tables. This phenomenon occurs due to the overflow of a river in its middle parts due to the lack of slopes.
You have at your disposal guided tours of the park either on foot, by car, with children or in large groups. The El Mirador de Cabañeros campsite is ideal for visiting Las Tablas de Daimiel.
The west of Andalusia includes one of the most famous national parks in Spain: Doñana and its marshes. This area is a protected area of Spain and is located in the province of Huelva. It stretches over 100,000 hectares and is home to more than 300 different species of birds, as well as other fish and mammals.
Unfortunately, in June 2017 the park suffered a serious forest fire that destroyed more than 8,000 hectares burned. Do not forget if you are going to visit any natural park take care of the surroundings and take a series of precautions.
We find campsites such as Camping Doñana, Camping Village Doñarrayan Park and Camping la Aldea.
We return to Castilla la Mancha to find the second national park in this autonomous community: the Cabañeros National Park. It is one of the least visited nationally with around 100,000 annual visitors. It is located in the mountains of Toledo, between the Rocigalg and El Chorrito mountains. The extension of the park exceeds 40,000 hectares.
An interesting option is that you park your caravan at the El Mirador de Cabañeros campsite and hire one of the 4 × 4 routes offered by the park organization.
The Garajonay National Park occupies the 10% of the island of La Gomera. It is smaller than the previous ones: almost 4,000 hectares of surface. The climate on the island is subtropical, but it is recommended not to forget warm clothes when visiting the park, since temperatures drop as you climb to the higher areas.
The closest campsite is Camping La Vista, although the park is in the center of the island you can sleep anywhere given the wide range available.
Located in the Huesca Pyrenees, it receives no less than an average of 600,000 visitors a year. Its surface occupies more than 15,000 hectares and is also known as the Ordesa Valley. It is formed by four valleys and a central mountainous massif and is the second oldest national park in Spain.
You can visit the Broto Valley, the Pineta Valley, Torta or Laspuña among others. Many rural houses surround the area, but if you prefer to go to a campsite you can ask for Camping Ordesa, Camping Pineta, Camping Valle de Bujaruelo or Camping-Bungalows San Antón, among others.
